    Chechen (Metopium brownei) also known as Caribbean Rosewood. Although not a true rosewood, this species holds many of the same characteristics. Visually stunning with greens, reds, gold and orange. Many blanks can have a lot of character and be quite dramatic. It is a moderately hard species, that works easily and finishes well. Native to Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Cuba. The thin stock lumber is ready for milling. We also have a nice selection of turning stock.

    Padauk (Pterocarpus soyauxii) a very popular species among turners and box makers. It is easy to work and finishes well. The pinkish orange to deep brownish red finikshes to a very deep luster.
