The SpinRite 3.25HP Router Motor with Remote Control is built from the ground up to deliver optimum performance in a router lift. Rather than searching for a tiny switch and a tiny dial on the body of the router, you have a remote switch box you can bolt to your router table anywhere within 3 feet of the motor. But, being within easy reach is only half the story of the heavy-duty switch enclosure. The extra real estate gave us room to use a large, precision-dampened speed dial, much more sophisticated electronics and a large, bright LED tachometer…things you just can't build into the body of a router. Now you have easy access and precise control, from a low of 10,000 to a maximum of 21,000 rpm…and no more guessing. The tachometer shows you the exact spindle speed.
Designed and Built Exclusively for Router Tables
In addition, the bearings and spindle have been improved to reduce run-out. At the end of the spindle, you'll find a carefully ground internal taper to receive industry-standard ER-20 collets. The collet, taper and nut combine with the improved shaft and bearings to deliver the smoothest cuts possible. Three collets are provided (1/2", 1/4" and 8mm), but more than 20 sizes are readily available, from as small as 1/16" to a maximum of 13mm, in both inch and metric dimensions. If you’re a typical woodworker, you may never need anything other than 1/2", 1/4" and 8mm that are provided, but with the ER-20 system, if you find a bit you want in 3/8" shank, or need to use a small engraving bit, you can be sure you can get a collet to fit.
Whether you’re ploughing a tiny 1/16" vee-groove or doing wide raised panel doors, you can always find the right speed for the job. Just dial it in. The large, bright LED read-out gives you the speed of the spindle. The electronics that control the motor’s speed also provide the soft-start feature. The switch is a no-voltage release (NVR) switch that adds a bit of safety to prevent unexpected restarts of the router motor after a power interruption. The collet wrenches included with the SpinRite are offset, so you can reach down below table level to change bits, if necessary. There are no tabs or pins on the 4.2" cylindrical body, making it effortless to mount the motor in most major brands of router lifts, including Woodpeckers QuickLifts. And, there’s no hand-held base to sit on your shelf and catch dust. This router is built to be part of a router table, period.
