Woodpeckers SERX Straight Edge Rules stand on their own while you make critical alignment checks and adjustments on your machinery. The 24" and 36" SERX Straight Edge Rules are part of our permanent product line-up, and you can order them any time you want. But in response to thousands of requests for both shorter and longer versions, we decided to make two special OneTIME Tool editions. For a limited time, you can order 12" and 49-1/2" SERX Straight Edge Rules. These have all the great features of the permanent product SERX Straight Edges, just in sizes that will fit certain shops and situations better.
Straight Edges That Stand on Their Own 2 Feet!
The unique vee-groove profile on the base edge of the SERX gives your tool a solid footing, while maintaining a clear view of any high or low spots in the surface. Machined to a tolerance of .0015" per foot, they're perfect for checking your table saw for flatness, making sure your jointer tables are parallel, setting up your router table and any other machinery alignment job you might face. The 49-1/2" model excels at aligning long bed jointers. The 12" model is particularly handy for checking hand planes and other smaller, but equally critical tools.
While the base of the SERX makes it a great tool for checking machinery, we didn’t stop there. We laser engrave a bright white bar along the bottom edge that highlights low spots. The graduated edge is beveled at 30° to get the markings right down next to your material. The major fractions are called out and the full inches are highlighted, making this a very easy scale to read. We hold the engraving to a tolerance of ±.004" total accumulated error over the full length of the scale. That’s about 1/10 the width of a really sharp pencil mark…spread out over the entire length of the SERX.
Like all Woodpeckers OneTIME Tools, the 12" and 49-1/2" SERX Straight Edge Rules are only built to order…precisely machined and carefully inspected right here in our Strongsville, Ohio, facility just south of Cleveland. You have until Monday, May 6, 2024 to place your order. After that, we'll build just what we need to fill the orders and get them out to you.
