Woodsmith Fish Whirligig Standard Plan & Premium Shop Drawings
Energy from the wind is directed along the shaft to open and close the mouth of the fish and move the tail from side to side. Bearings seated in posts attached to the body ensure a high degree of efficiency. The thing you may enjoyed most about making the whirligig is that it’s primarily a hand tool project. The bulk of the work is done with rasps, files, and gouges.
You can purchase the Woodsmith Fish Whirligig standard plan or the supplemental premium shop drawings as a downloadable PDF or in a printed format that we ship to you. We highly recommend purchasing both the standard plan and the supplemental premium shop drawings for more in-depth instructions and greater detail.
Here’s a great opportunity to take a detour from the ordinary and dip your toes in the whimsical waters of folk-art projects.
