Ash, Quarter Sawn 10 Board Foot Packs

ASH-10-PACK-GROUP

Picking the best wood stock for your project is always a challenge.  We have selected premium Quarter Sawn Ash Thin Stock Lumber to make it easier for you to get back in the shop and on to the next project.  Quartersawn wood is very desirable because it is much more dimensionally stable than wood cut in a different fashion. It also presents a very beautiful and straight grain pattern that is sought by cabinetmakers and furnituremakers. However, the yield from the log is lower when it is cut this way, so it can be difficult to find and will cost more. Quarter sawn lumber is defined as wood where the annular growth rings intersect the face of the board at a 60 to 90 degree angle.  This thin stock is cut to size from quality, kiln-dried stock. 100% clear.  Each 10bf pack includes 6 pieces of ¾” x 5” x 48” Quarter Sawn Ash.  Dimensions are +/- 1/8".  Grain runs with the longest dimension. Ash (Fraxinus americana) is light brown heartwood with almost all white sapwood. Straight grain with coarse texture. Excellent bending properties and shock resistance. USA.
