Padauk (Pterocarpus soyauxii) a very popular species among turners and box makers. It is easy to work and finishes well. The pinkish orange to deep brownish red finishes to a very deep luster. The color can change over time, so we recommend a finish with UV inhibitors. The wide color ranges of this species make for interesting projects, where the wood is the star. The boards are 6” to 8” wide and surfaced to 15/16”. We have selected premium samples of Padauk so that you can have confidence to have the best product for your next project.
