Set dovetail and miter angles faster, easier and more accurately than ever before with Woodpeckers newest OneTIME Tool, the Bevel Block. The Bevel Block lets you set your adjustable bevel square to a physical reference, rather than trying to visually match it to a mark. The Bevel Block instantly gives you angles for 1:6, 1:7 and 1:8 dovetails, and miter angles of 15° (12 sides), 22-1/2° (8 sides), 30° (6 sides), 36° (5 sides) and 45° (4 sides). With the geometry of the Bevel Block you always have both the 90° complement and the 180° supplement to each of those angles by simply changing the surface you’re holding the bevel square against. That gives you twenty-four different physical references.
Angle, Angle Complement and Angle Supplement All-in-One Simple Block
Set the angles by holding the right side of the Bevel Block against your bevel square’s base and adjust the blade to match your desired angle. It’s that easy and that perfect, every time.
Switch the side that is against your bevel square from the right side to the bottom and you’ll get the 90° complements to all the angles. This technique is perfect for laying out shelf braces and other projects where you need the total of two cuts to equal 90°.
Supplementary angles are particularly helpful at the table saw. It’s hard to see a narrow 45° angle between the saw blade and the table, but on the other side of the blade, the 135° angle is wide open and easy to see. Set the right side of the Bevel Block on your saw table and adjust your bevel square to the supplementary angle. Now you can set your saw for a bevel cut faster and easier than ever before.
Woodpeckers Bevel Squares are the Perfect Companion to the Bevel Block
We’re re-releasing our Woodpeckers Bevel Squares to go along with the new Bevel Block. Based on an 1870 design by Isaiah Robinson, Woodpeckers Bevel Squares lock from the end of the base, not at the joint. This keeps the locking mechanism out of your way and greatly improves the holding power. The Bevel Squares are available in two sizes; 7-inch and 12-inch. They’re the perfect complement to the Bevel Block.
Like all Woodpeckers OneTIME Tools, the Bevel Block and Bevel Squares are built to order, precisely machined and carefully inspected in our Strongsville, Ohio, facility just south of Cleveland. The deadline to order is Monday, October 31, 2022 to be included in this production run. Once orders are filled, these OneTIME Tools will be retired from our product line. Delivery is scheduled for January, 2023.
