Lake Volta Ebony Turning Blanks
We’ve recently secured a quantity of Lake Volta Ebony blanks that come from the submerged forest within Ghana’s Lake Volta. These trees have been underwater since 1961, but they remain standing, perfectly preserved, providing a sustainable alternative to harvesting Ghana’s living forests. Whereas Ebony is typically a jet black with little variation in grain, Lake Volta Ebony has more of a brown appearance that contains beautiful reddish hues with stunning sapwood streaking. This spectacular appearance is the result of the wood absorbing the lake’s minerals over time. 2” x 2” x 12” blanks of Lake Volta Ebony are available now only while supplies last.
Due to international shipping restrictions, we can only ship this product in the United States.
