Solid Carbide Slow Spiral Router Bits, 3-Flute, 1/2" Shank
If you work in highly figured hardwoods, exotics, phenolics or other dense materials, this week's additions to the Ultra-Shear line-up are just what you're looking for. 3-Flute Slow Spiral bits handle super-hard material better, cutting cleaner with less burning and less feed resistance. This week we're adding to our slow spiral family with 1/2" diameter 3-Flute Slow Spiral Bits in Up-Cut and Down-Cut versions with cutting lengths of 1", 1-1/4" and 1-1/2". For best results, always use the shortest cut length that will accomplish the job at hand. Don’t settle for inferior quality imported bits to save money. Woodpeckers uses state-of-the-art CNC grinding equipment, the highest quality solid carbide blanks and ultra-fine grinding wheels to produce American-made router bits at extremely competitive prices. The days of paying extra for middle-man markups are over. Buy direct from the manufacturer and pocket the savings.

Up-Cut or Down-Cut? Up-Cut bits pull the chips out of the kerf more effectively. They’re a better choice for dado, rabbet and full edge cutting in solid wood. Down-Cut bits slice down into the material so surface fibers don’t get lifted. This is particularly important on cabinet grade plywood, but can also be an advantage in undulating grain patterns like fiddleback Maple and ribbon-grained Mahogany.
Like all Woodpeckers products, Ultra-Shear Solid Carbide bits are made right here in our Strongsville, Ohio, facility just south of Cleveland. We’re confident you won’t find an American-made bit of the same design for less.
