3-Flute Compression Router Bits
Ultra-Shear's new 3-flute compression bits deliver faster, smoother cuts and flawless top and bottom edges. Compression bits combine up-cut tips with down-cut shanks to leave beautiful, chip-free cuts on both the top and bottom of your material. Adding a third cutting flute gives you a choice of increasing your feed rate or getting more cuts per inch. These bits perform flawlessly in CNCs of any size and just as well in hand-held routers and router tables. While compression bits usually are chosen for plywood and MDF work, these bits cut solid wood perfectly, too. Ultra-Shear makes them in two cut lengths; 1-1/4" and 1-5/8". Both lengths are available with standard or short up-cut sections. The short up-cut gives you the advantages of compression cutting geometry in material as thin as 1/4".
