Carbide Insert Rabbeting Bit
Ultra-Shear's Carbide Insert Rabbeting Bits feature a 3-flute design that reduces chip load, and delivers smoother cuts with less feed resistance. What's more, you'll never need another rabbeting bit, because when these get dull, you don't replace them or try to find a reliable sharpening shop. You just turn the three carbide inserts a quarter turn, tighten them back down and get right back to work. After thousands and thousands of feet, when all four edges have been used up, just order another set of inserts and you're right back in business. And if you get the Collar Set, you'll have bearing-guided depths from 1/2" (standard) down to 1/16" in 1/16" increments.

The standard depth of 1/2" is controlled by a pair of ball bearings. The stacked bearings give you great flexibility in material thickness. The optional Collar Set gives you 7 additional depth settings, each a generous 9/16" tall. Just like the standard bearings, the extra height makes sure you're always getting the best reference for your rabbet depth.
Replaceable carbide inserts originated in metal working. Among woodworkers, tuners first embraced them for lathe tools that never need sharpening. Now more and more are showing up in router bits, and why not? Why keep throwing money away every time a router bit gets dull? With insert bits, a new set of razor-sharp cutting edges is just a few seconds away, any time, day or night.
Woodpeckers ships these top-quality bits direct from the manufacturer to the woodworker. You no longer have to settle for inferior quality imported bits to save money. We precision-machine the body of the Carbide Insert Rabbeting Bits here in our Strongsville, Ohio, facility. Our factory-direct approach delivers top quality router bits at extremely competitive prices. These are the only carbide insert rabbeting bits we know of that offers 3 cutters instead of 2, are available in both 1/4" and 1/2" shank and have an optional set of depth collars in 1/16" increments.
