2-Flute, Carbide Tipped, V-Groove Bit
Ultra-Shear's recently expanded range of Carbide-Tipped 90° V-Groove Bits provides the perfect bit for every application and project size. With 3 sizes in 1/2" shank and 4 sizes in 1/4" shank, you're sure to find just the right bit for the job at hand. Ultra-Shear's tip geometry avoids the fuzzy groove bottoms you see with many v-groove bits, making them ideal for demanding projects like engraving and folding miter joints.

Two of the bits (one in each shank size) are specifically engineered for miter fold joinery, with a tiny flat at the apex (of course, the same bits can be used for other jobs, too). While the technique is common in computerized cabinetmaking, home craftsmen have embraced miter folding as a quick way to create small boxes with continuous grain patterns. The 1/2" shank version will cut miter fold joints in material up to 3/4" thick. If you're using a smaller router, the 1/4" shank version works in material up to 1/2" thick.
Whether you're using the Shaper Origin, a traditional CNC or tracing by hand, these bits excel at lettering and engraving, delivering clean sidewalls and bottoms.
In furniture and cabinetry, v-grooves add interest and contrast to moldings, frames and panels. And don't forget, with a fence your v-groove can serve double-duty as a chamfer bit.
Don’t settle for inferior quality imported bits to save money. Ultra-Shear uses state-of-the-art CNC grinding equipment, the highest quality carbide, ultra-fine grinding wheels and skilled Northeast Ohio machinists to produce American-made router bits at extremely competitive prices. The days of paying extra for middleman markups are over. Buy direct from the manufacturer and pocket the savings. We’re confident you won’t find American-made v-groove bits of the same design for less.
