SteadyCurve 2.0 Magnetic Band Saw Template Guide
SteadyCurve 2.0 physically guides you just outside the lines when band sawing contoured projects, leaving just the right amount for your router to clean up. Your pattern projects will come together faster and more accurately than ever before. The template follower works much like the ball bearing on a flush trim bit. But instead of cutting precisely to the pattern, the band saw blade is held off the line by a fraction of an inch. Template followers for 1/8" and 1/4" blades come with SteadyCurve2.0 and there are optional template followers for 1/2" and 3/4" blades. The difference between the original SteadyCurve and SteadyCurve 2.0 is in the magnetic base. The new, simplified base mounts and unmounts with just one lever.
If you've embraced pattern routing as a time-saving way to create duplicate parts, SteadyCurve 2.0 is the next step in streamlining your workflow. Just mount the template to your stock one time, then rough it out and flush trim it without ever messing with the template position again. The amount of offset from the line is adjustable from barely there up to 1/4".
Position SteadyCurve 2.0 on your band saw table with the amount of blade offset you want, lower the lever to engage the magnets and you’re ready to cut. Instead of trying to follow a traced-out line, just keep the pattern against the SteadyCurve as you move along the curves…just like you do on the router table.
SteadyCurve 2.0 comes with replaceable template followers for 1/4" and 1/8" blades and works with any band saw with a cast iron or steel table and at least 12" of throat clearance. There are optional template followers for 1/2" and 3/4" blades.
