Ultra-Shear's new "Stubby" 1/4" solid carbide spiral bits are 1/2" shorter overall than most other bits with the same cut length. This Stubby design dramatically reduces deflection and chatter, significantly improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. While originally designed for desktop and benchtop CNCs with ER-11 collets, they also work beautifully in trim routers.

We offer them in 3 configurations…up-cut with 7/8" cut length, down-cut with 3/4" cut length and compression with 3/4" cut length. Choose up-cut for solid wood and cuts where chip evacuation is critical. Down-cut bits ensure a clean top edge in plywood and other panels. Compression bits cut toward the middle on both top and bottom surfaces.
