If you’re tired of struggling to get a perfect fit when setting up a dado blade, you’ll love Woodpeckers latest OneTIME Tools, the Dado Set-Up Fixture and Gap Gauges. It all starts with the Gap Gauge. Fit it to the stock you want to fit in your dado and lock it. Now you have a perfect reference for the correct width of your dado. Next, instead of working down inside your saw, the Dado Set-Up Fixture lets you adjust your dado blades and chippers right out in the open, without any tools. The large knurled knob spins down and locks the stack just like your arbor nut. Use the Gap Gauge to check the width of the dado assembly, adjust with shims as necessary, transfer to your table saw and you are ready to go.
Tool-Free Locking and Wide Open Access to Adjust your Dado Width
The base of the DSF acts just like the arbor flange of your saw. The 5/8" bronze arbor lets your dado components align smoothly (there’s an optional 1" arbor if you need it). The fixture will accommodate up to 15/16" of dado width. The large knurled knob spins down quickly and locks firmly with just finger-tip pressure. Making minor adjustments with shims couldn’t be easier. Just spin the knob off, add shims and check it again…no busted knuckles, no arbor nut lost in the sawdust or caught in the dust collector hose. When you’ve got it just right, carry the whole assembly over to your saw and transfer it.
While the Gap Gauge is a perfect complement to the Dado Set-Up Fixture, it’s pretty darn handy any time you need to transfer an inside measurement to an outside (or vice versa). We liked the function so well we designed a smaller version, too. The Mini Gap Gauge is perfect for getting in confined spaces, like mortise and tenon joints. Either size will give you instantly matching inside and outside measurements from 1/8" to 1-1/8".
The Dado Set-Up Fixture, Gap Gauge and Mini Gap Gauge are available individually, but since they work together so well, we’ve also bundled them into one money-saving package. Like all our OneTIME Tools, the Dado Set-Up Fixture and Gap Gauges are only made to order, precisely machined and carefully inspected in our Strongsville, Ohio factory. The deadline to order yours is Monday, February 19, 2024. Once orders are filled, these tools will be retired from our product line.
