The OneTIME Tool Collector’s Vault opens for the first time with the beginning of a series. Over the next 4 years Woodpeckers will release a full range of Bench, Dovetail, Paring, Mortise and Butt Chisels…40 in all. Each release will have a 4-week window for you to place your order. These exquisite chisels combine a Blue Spruce Chisel Blade with a handle not only engineered to efficiently transfer mallet blows, but look good and feel good while doing it. What’s more, the handle can be removed from the blade in seconds to simplify sharpening or switch to a specialized handle of your own design.

Our sister-company, Blue Spruce Toolworks began the quest for the ideal chisel blade in 2005. In 2019 they invested in grinding and polishing equipment that delivers the flattest, smoothest surface possible. The back of each chisel has been ground and polished to a flatness measured in "light-bands". Imagine buying new chisels and not spending countless hours attempting to flatten the backs by hand. Nor will you spend any time on initial sharpening. The dedicated tool finishers at Blue Spruce understand sharpening at a different level than most of us. They use skill, technique and specialized equipment to bring the bevel of each chisel to a surgically sharp edge. And, the double-tempered and cryogenically treated A-2 tool steel blades hold their edge like nothing else out there. You simply cannot find a better chisel blade…anywhere.
Woodpeckers Chisels marry that carefully crafted blade to a handle system engineered to feel like an extension of your hand when paring, yet stand up to rigorous mallet work when it's needed. The octagonal profile gives you the tactile control to instantly align the edge where you need it…with the added benefit of not rolling off your bench.
We're starting the Collector's Vault chisel program where every hand tool woodworker should start, a 4-piece Bench Chisel Set including 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" widths. The tapered blades extend 4-1/2" beyond the ferrule. These are the general-purpose bench chisels you'll use every day in your shop. The set includes a wall-mountable Rack-It to keep your chisels protected, right in plain sight and always ready for work.
Like all Woodpeckers products, the Bench Chisel Sets are precisely machined and carefully inspected right here in our Strongsville, Ohio, facility just south of Cleveland. As a tool from the OTT Collector's Vault, these Bench Chisel Sets are only made to order. You can order yours through Monday, June 23, 2025.
