Woodpeckers Fat Head Hook Rule features a positive physical reference locating the zero point of your rule exactly at the edge of your stock. It's the only hook rule on the market where your rule lies flat (all the others require you to hold the rule upright). Don't fumble with aligning the end of your rule to the edge of your stock. Just use a Fat Head and you'll know for sure that you're right on. Even if your stock has a round-over on the edge (like standard framing lumber) you're always calibrated perfectly with the primary edge.
Always Starts Your Measurements from the Right Point
Without the Fat Head stop, this would still be a remarkable rule to have in your shop. We carefully finish the stainless-steel blade to a low-glare satin finish. The graduations are laser engraved to a tolerance of ±.004" total accumulated error. And, at just 1/32" thick, you’ll never deal with parallax error. But, with the Fat Head stop you have a tool that delivers unparalleled accuracy and exceptional ease-of-use.
Speaking of the stop, it is machined from a solid billet of aircraft grade aluminum on our state-of-the-art CNC milling centers. The joint between the rule and the stop is designed to position the stop exactly on the zero point of the rule. The 5/16" thick, 3" wide head provides a positive reference to your material.
We make the Fat Head Hook Rule in three lengths; 6", 12", and 18". All lengths are available in your choice of inch, metric or combo graduations. Like all Woodpeckers products, the Fat Head Hook Rules are precisely machined and carefully inspected in our Strongsville, Ohio, facility just south of Cleveland. The Fat Heads have appeared a few times over the years in our OneTIME Tool program, but now they've joined our permanent product line-up.
