Laying out tenons almost always involves marking three sides of your stock at the same point. Many other layout jobs require the same thing. Chasing a critical measurement around your stock with a square takes patience, time and – let’s face it, luck -- to keep all three marks on the same plane. Woodpeckers latest OneTIME Tools, the Straddle Squares are the perfect tools to have in your apron any time you need to mark both faces and one edge of your stock. Adjusting to a wide range of stock thicknesses, the two Straddle Squares grip your workpiece and give you a perfectly aligned marking reference on three sides at once.

Straddle Square

The parallel jaws of our Straddle Squares feature a spring-loaded plunger to effortlessly spread the jaws apart using just three fingers. Place the Straddle Square over the work, release the plunger and the jaws hold it firmly in place yet it can easily be nudged right up to your tick mark.

Now, with a single pencil stroke, mark your stock on three faces and get absolutely perfect results. With precise layout lines, you’re on the road to achieving tight joints that fit perfectly, the hallmark of quality craftsmanship.

You’ll find Straddle Squares essential for precise layouts of tenon shoulder and cheek cuts. At the table saw or miter saw, you’ll never again have that “head-slap moment” when you realize you marked the wrong side of your board. We make our Straddle Squares in two sizes to fit all your stock requirements. Use the 3/4" model for most furniture and casework on stock from 1/4" to 3/4" thick. For larger projects, and construction framing, the 1-3/4" model handles stock from 3/4" to 1-3/4" thick.

Our Straddle Square bodies are machined from aircraft grade billet aluminum on CNC milling centers and anodized for a lifetime of protection. The plunger is turned from stainless steel for a lifetime of  rust-free performance.

Like all our OneTIME Tools, the Straddle Squares are only made to order, precisely built and carefully inspected in our Strongsville, Ohio factory. The deadline to order yours is Monday, July 15, 2019. Once orders are filled, these tools will be retired from our product line. Delivery is scheduled for November, 2019.
