Coolibah Burl (Eucalyptus coolahab) is native to Australia. Typically found along river banks, this exquisitely figured burl is prized by woodworkers. Woodworkers and Turners work these burls into a variety of projects, including clocks, turnings, bases for carvings, resawn for box inlay, etc. Heartwood ranges from brownish pink to darker reddish-brown. Thin sapwood is grayish-white. Nearly always seen in burl form. The burls are sold by weight in kilos. Blanks can vary in size and shape. These burls are a natural product and thus cracks and checks are not defects. The burl caps are generally 3/4” thick.
