Whiteside Vertical Panel Bits

The general rule of thumb is 1 HP per inch of router bit diameter. In other words, if you need to spin a 3-1/2” raised panel bit, you should have a 3-1/2 HP router. If you don't, you can use these Vertical Raised Panel bits to accomplish the same thing.
These American made, carbide tipped cutters do a wonderful job both with and across the grain. Their one inch diameter enables you to run them at the full speed of your router yet they only require about 1-1/2 HP.
Four different profiles are available, all with 1/2" shank. Overall cut length is approximately 1-1/2” easily allowing for the same reveal as the largest horizontal raised panel bits.
