T-Nut, Three Prong
Here's an easy way to put steel threads into wood and have the greatest amount of pull-out resistance of all the threaded insert types. Simply drill a hole to fit the barrel size, than hammer in the locking prongs until the top of the tee nut is flush with the surface. Can also be set flush in a counter bore.
If recessing into a counter bore, first drill 1/8” deep recess with forstner or spade type drill, then drill through hole with barrel sized standard twist drill.
