SSER- Steel Straight Edge Ruler

The new SSER – Steel Straight Edge Ruler is our finest combination straight edge and ruler for woodworking. All four sides of this high quality steel blade are surface ground to perfection. One edge is then milled to a 30 degree angle which allows the machine engraved inch scale marking to slope down to the work surface for improved visibility and easier alignment. All graduations are back filled by hand, for improved readability. Guaranteed to never wear out. The graduations are literally machined into the steel.

The SSER is 1/4” thick and 2-15/32” wide, the thickest, widest straight edge on the market. Its heft improves stability while setting up jointer beds, table saws, shapers and even while aligning fences. No other straight edge on the market offers this combination of precision, durability and usefulness.

Actual straightness and parallel accuracy is much better than .0005” per foot. That's better than 1/2 of one thousandth of an inch. By far one of the most accurate tools of its type.

Two lengths are available, 24” and 48”. Each comes in a fitted, wall mountable wooden case and a Life Time Guarantee. Assuming careful handling and intended use, we'll replace this tool if it ever deviates from .001” in straightness per foot on either long edge.

Care is simple. We recommend periodically wiping with rust inhibitor like T-9 or paste wax, avoid dropping or knocking into hard objects. Small dings and scratches can easily be stoned flat with a small, hard sharpening stone. Use oil or water while stoning. Further blending can be accomplished with crocus cloth.
