One of the aspects of this joinery system that's designed to make it easy to use, is positioning sliders that can be instantly adjusted to any of 9 individual positions, without tools. This allows you to center a screw in 1/2”, 5/8”, 3/4”, 7/8”, 1”, 1-1/8”, 1-1/4”, 1-3/8”, and 1-1/2” thick material.
Relief holes allow the woodchips to escape through the backside of the jig, instead of clogging up so that you have to keep increasing your force on your drill.
This will help your drill bit stay sharper and last longer.
The clamp adjuster pad captures the pad of any of Kreg's Face Clamps, so that you can physically attach a clamp to the jig. You can also take the clamp adjuster off the R3 jig if you prefer to use your own bar clamps on the workpiece.
The R3 is packaged in a durable plastic carrying case. A molded insert in the case assigns a place for every part and even provides an area to hold one of Kreg's 100 count screw packages. In addition, there is a molded depth collar setting gauge and also a screw selection chart on the inside lid for easy reference.
