If your project needs super strong joints, steel cross dowels and bolts are the way to go. We stock cross dowels with 10-24, 1/4 -20 and 3/8-16 through holes. We also stock Grade 5 Bolts to go along with them.
Our new 3/8-16 Cross Dowels are ideal for workbench frames and trestle tables. They can withstand high torque values and provide extremely secure right angle joints. A slot in end simplifies alignment with bolt.
Cross dowel dimensions are D = Diameter of drill bit, L = Length of Cross Dowel. Actual diameter is slightly less then drill size to aid in alignment with bolt hole.
