HARDENED A2 STEEL STRAIGHT EDGES

|
Here's an opportunity to get a rather unusual straight edge. We made a test run from A2 steel. This type of steel is often use for high end hand plane blades. The goal was to make a straight edge that was resistant to dents and dings, straight as an arrow and flat. We accomplished two of the three goals; they're hardened to 50Rc (Rockwell C Scale), straight to within .0015” across along the length, but not as flat as we'd like. When laid down they have a slight bow of approximately .020”. That happened during the heat treating process however it makes absolutely on difference in functionality.
They're about 1-7/8" wide and 3/16"
thick. However we decided not to add this tool to our offerings.
Other than the couple we kept for our machine shop, we're offering the rest for sale at less than what we spent making them. This really is a great deal. Available in 18” or 36” lengths. Made in the U.S.A.
GUARANTEE: We guarantee these to be straight to within .0015” along they're entire length. If you get one that isn't, we will either refund the purchase price or replace it if we have any left. |
