| One Time Tool - Precision Framing Square

After the tape measure, a framing square is probably the most frequently used tool in most woodworking shops. So why settle for a flimsy, lightweight square with questionable accuracy?
If you've shopped for one lately, you've seen plenty of framing square squares that were stamped out in a factory on the other side of the world. The price is low, but so is the quality. Even if the tool's 90-degree angles are true, they won't be for long if your square gets dropped, bumped or dinged.
Woodpeckers Framing Squares are available in two sizes. Our standard square is slightly oversized, with a main leg that measures a full 24” on the inside edge. A smaller 18” square has a 16” inside edge.
Woodpeckers Framing Squares are machined from aircraft-grade aluminum on state-of-the-art CNC equipment. We work to tolerances of .001” (one thousandth of an inch!), a lot more exacting than other manufacturers. But extreme accuracy isn't the only thing you get with Woodpeckers Framing Squares. The legs on our squares are ¼” thick, providing more than enough rigidity for any layout assignment.
And we added more “beef” to the short leg of each square, in the form of ¼'-thick cheeks that are fastened to the leg. This design feature gives the square a more stable “stance” while also creating an inner lip that allows the square to lie flat on your workpiece –just what you've always wanted a framing square to do.
In addition to serving as a valued layout tool, you'll find that this square does an excellent job of guiding the base plate of a circular saw for perfectly square crosscuts.
Don't settle for just any framing square. With Woodpeckers Framing Squares, you'll have an heirloom-quality tool that gives your projects the precision they deserve.
